‘Search + Find’ and EBSCOhost databases are getting a new look!

New Unified Search Box on Library Website Action Required by Friday 18th JulyAs part of the ongoing merger of library systems, there will be a new unified Search Box (Search + Find) on the Library homepage that will make your search experience even better and combined across all of our campuses.Action Required By Friday 18th July 2025. As part of this merger, there are a number of actions you may need to take to make sure your set-up on the old system will still be available to you in the new system. Review the details below to see what relates to you:Check if you have created “My Custom” foldersAll “My Folder” items will migrate automatically but if you have created “My Custom Folder(s)”, you'll need to take the following steps to make sure that they're transferred over.Copy items from your “My Custom Folder(s)” into your “My Folder” as they will NOT automatically migrate to the new user interface.Choose your campus:DonegalGalway - MayoSligoClick “Sign In” at the top-right of the navigation bar and log in to your account using your ATU network email address and password.Click “Folder” on the navigation bar and look towards the bottom of the list on the left-hand side of the screen to see if you have any custom folders.Open each of your “My Custom” folders by clicking on the + sign to view their contents. When the contents of your custom folders are displaying on screen click on the checkbox at the top of the list of items to “Select All”.Select “Move To” in the drop-down menu and click on “My Folder” to move your items to this folder. A message will appear stating “There are 0 results in your folder”.Repeat steps 4-6 above for all the content in your custom folders that you want to transfer to the new user interface. That's it! The content in your non-custom folders will be migrated and accessible in the new user interface, where you can move it to new custom folders if needed.Do not add any new items to “My Custom” folders until we move to the new user interface 29th July. You can continue to add them to “My Folder”.Check if you have created any Journal AlertsIn advance of 18th July take note of the journals you have created alerts for, (i.e. screenshot or copy and paste into a document), and following 29th July re-create them in the new user interface.Check if you have created any Search AlertsIn advance of 18th July, take note of the terms you have used you in the searches you have created searches alerts for, (i.e. screenshot or copy and paste into a document), and following 29th July re-create them in the new user interface.Check if you have created any BookmarksIf you’ve bookmarked any library resources in your browser you’ll need to update these links.
