The Irish Copyright Licensing Agency

The Irish Copyright Licensing Agency (ICLA) provides a licensing scheme for Higher Education Institutions which is certified under Section 57C of the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 (as amended). Under this scheme, the ICLA charges each institution a fee for a licence allowing the use and sharing of copyright material for research and teaching purposes, as outlined in the terms of the licence agreement.

Conditions of the Licence

The Licence may only be exercised in relation to Works lawfully owned, held or accessed by the Licensee; this includes material lawfully accessed online but also the use of a Work owned by the lecturer or tutor.
