The Connemara Library building was designed by the award-winning architects O’Donnell and Tuomey back in the early 2000s. The large windows make the space light and airy and cover 2 floors. The lower consists of study spaces, book stacks, our whisper room, a self-issue machine and a multi-functional device which allows printing, scanning and photocopying.
The mezzanine or top floor has views of Diamond Hill in the beautiful Connemara National Park and doubles up as an exhibition and bookable event area. Unusually, the Library shares a space with Letterfrack’s Public Library. We are the only Academic Library in Ireland that shares a space in such a way.
ATU Connemara Library specialises in books about Design History, Furniture History, International Styles, Wood, Woodworking General, Arts and Crafts, Drawing, Graphic Design, Architecture, Sculpture, Product Design, Industrial Design, Education for Sustainability, Teacher Education and Business.
When you find the book you want, you'll see its shelf or class number. This will help you find it in the library.
